2021-22 Virtual Academy
Enrollment opens for next year's high school students
Good Morning WSD High School Families,
One of the positive implications of the past year has been that some students and families have found that they prefer learning in a virtual environment. As a result, the WSD will continue to offer the Virtual Academy as an option for students next year. Registration has now opened for students who will be in high school during the 2021-22 school year. The Virtual Academy enrollment form is located in our Student Information System (Parent Portal) for you to complete for each high school student in your household. To access the Virtual Academy eForm, please select the 2021-2022 school year in the top, right once you are logged into Tyler SIS Parent Portal.
High school students begin their course selection process each year during this time. In order to choose courses and place students correctly, it is imperative that we know if students are choosing a virtual learning option. As a result, we are asking for only students in grades 9-12 to make a decision about virtual learning for next school year at this time. Once this selection is made, students will work on course selection and counselors will work closely with students who choose virtual learning to ensure they receive the courses they want based on the availability we have.
Students in grades PreK-8 will have a virtual learning option as well for the 2021-22 school year and more information will be coming out about that option later this winter. Please note: If we have continued global pandemic concerns leading into the 2021-22 school year, we will have an additional enrollment period for virtual learning closer to the start of the school year. The purpose of this enrollment is for those high school students who wish to learn virtually next year, regardless of the status of the pandemic.
Please access your student’s enrollment form in SIS and make a selection no later than Friday, Jan. 29, 2021. You will be asked to choose between in-person, virtual, or hybrid learning. The form details each option. Please refer to the form to better understand our 2021-22 virtual model. If you do not complete the form, the default option will be selected for your child, which is in-person learning.
If you have any questions, please contact Keri Skeeters in our Teaching and Learning Department.
Thank you,
